The Love Language series has continually amazed me, with its detailed and supportive inclusion of trans, genderqueer, genderfluid, and Deaf/deaf characters using ASL. Reese gives us clear insight into the sexuality of the characters, as well as the culture of the Deaf characters, while also providing us with a good dose of education.Love Limits is the story of an asexual caretaker who knows nothing of BDSM and a genderfluid character, very deep into BDSM, looking for a Daddy. Both characters have to explore their needs, grow within those needs and their limits, and find if they are compatible in a lasting way.This book was special to me. As I identify as ace, Zhong's exploration of his capacity for intimacy and romance, while engaging with someone who is sexual, significantly resembled my reality. I wish this book had been available to read when I was much younger! The depth of Zhong's internal dialog, his realizations of what he can and can't do, as well as his method of tackling tough questions were illustrated perfectly.Ash was a beautiful character, as well. Light, cheerful yet conflicted, Ash's desire for a caring Daddy jumped off the pages and innocently challenged Zhong's assumptions as to his own compatibility with relationships.This book is one I will reread many times. A true romance, with a touch of kink, between complex characters with significant capacity for love, who just needed to find their way. There's nothing I can write that'll adequately convey how much I treasure this book. I absolutely, 100 percent loved it, and I only wish I could give it more than 5 stars.Ash and Zhong's story is light on what I'll call '"traditional" steam as far as most romance stories go, but there is no shortage of intense emotional connection and intimacy. It's unique, insightful, refreshing, incredibly hot in its own way, and, perhaps most importantly, true to the characters (Zhong is ace) and their relationship. And I don't usually comment on book covers, but this one is so perfect - Ash is just as adorable as I envisioned, and Zhong just radiates full-on Daddy-ness.As the author makes clear from the outset, you really should read "Love Lessons" (Book 2) for Dustin and Landon's story before reading this book. In addition to it being a 5-star read, you'll get much more out of this story having done so (some scenes parallel each other across both books with differing POVs) and the combination sets up the next book in the series.
