Boy, where to start with this one?! I cannot express how much I enjoyed this book. It has everything from heartbreak, narrow viewpoints, changing hearts, humor to finding out later in life you may be different from how you always thought you were. In the beginning, Gary is kind of a jerk which you already know if you read the second book with his son Lou's story. However, we get more insight into what actually happened in that hunting cabin the night before he came home to find Lou and August kissing in his kitchen. To say it is a shock to the system is an understatement! Steve, his best friend and hunting companion that night, is still getting over the loss of his wife too. We discover more about him especially after truth or dare starts halfway through a bottle of Wild Turkey. As they work through the changes and figure out what is actually going on with themselves they begin falling in love and they are both scared because one had very harsh views on this type relationship and the other thinks he is betraying his deceased wife. The humor filled discussion Gary has with Alan & Seth made me LOL as did a few more scenes. The whole book was sweet and showed two men opening themselves up to love and happiness again even if it was different from what has been considered normal for them. I have enjoyed all three books in this series and would not mind if Andy found a different kind of love in a book four 😉 I do love a grumpy hero with a bisexual awakening trope. And this one has two! A beautiful, funny, sexy story about two friends brought together by grief and fine love again.
