Parts of the story were interesting enough that I felt somewhat compelled to finish the book, while a lot of it was just Night Terror's inner monologs that seemed to go on forever because she kept going off on tangents. I can kind of forgive this based solely on the idea that she's a villian, but other than that they felt like unnecessary exposition that might have been filled with something that actually drove the narrative forward or added more detail about the characters and their world.I enjoyed the story's characters to an extent, but I wish that their backstories and motivations had been a little more fleshed out. They weren't as compelling as I would have liked.The writing also felt a little amateurish, but that's to be expected from a new writer in some ways. It's my kinda corny. Again, with so many books out there very dystopic in nature, I do enjoy reading a more tongue and cheek take on superheroes. Or something more lighthearted in nature. I know I compare things to shows, movies or hobbies I enjoy but it gets the point across: Pretty much Megamind with a Same Sex couple.Yes, I am biased towards getting more superhero prose under the spotlight.
