If you expect this book to be about a senator's wife's murder, you will be greatly disappointed, as was I. The first two thirds of the book as filled with various and sundry other incidents, including an apparent reunion of characters from other books. What are Thaddeus, Safari, and Turquoise doing here? Nothing. Just meaningless filler. The idea of "romance" is disgusting. There are two clumsy sex scenes that have nothing to do with the plot. And one of them comes at the very end of the book. If I wanted to read that kind of garbage, I would pick another genre. Further more, I don't think Ellsworth had much to do writing this book. It was probably the work of the other "author" whose name I had never heard and have already forgotten. This book is a total disaster. Ugh! J: DISAPPOINTED! I waited for this story to come out and shouldn't have. It seems to be mostly about two people, one of them a senator mind you, making way too many stupid decisions not even listening to lawyer advice. It started out interesting but the more I read the more illogical it all got. While I like Lettie and Tony, she gives her client watered down advice on threats to her life. It's all just not believable and the courtroom drama was not challengingat all, therefore not a very entertaining read. I was hoping this would be an enjoyable spin-off from the Thaddeus Murder series but maybe not.
